One aspect of car insurance to bear in mind when shopping for car insurance is the excess. This is the amount that you agree to pay before making a claim and can range from as little as £25 to more than £500.
The excess is particularly worth considering if you are concerned about damage done to your vehicle by other drivers because if the other driver runs off you will be left footing the bill and a hefty excess will just add insult to injury.
However, again it depends on the value of your car. Obviously if your car is only worth £500 you want the excess to be substantially less than this amount.
The important thing to remember though is that as long as you are insured and remain aware of other less than perfect drivers on the road, there is no point in worrying yourself sick about the damage that could be caused by another driver.
